After the massive success of Scream 6, the biggest opening weekend box office for the entire franchise, the seventh movie of the franchise was announced. The producer, Paul Neinstein is all set to give us another great horror movie. Scream 7 may be the continuation of the sixth movie. Scream 7: Release Date

Neve Campbell and director Kevin Williamson, in one of their Instagram posts in October 2024 announced the release date of Scream 7. The post included a knife stabbing a calendar with the release date written on it. According to this post, Scream 7 will be released on 27th February, 2026.

As the characters played by David Arquette, Scott Foley, and Matthew Lillard were dead in the previous movie, the report on Teen Vogue suggests that their roles are still under development for Scream 7. 

Unfortunately, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Melissa Barrera has been removed from the Scream 7 project. This decision was made after she posted in support of Palestine on social media during the Israel-Hamas war. Following her, Ortega also exited Scream 7 as there were scheduling differences with the shoot of season 2 on Wednesday.

Scream 7: What to Expect?

An official plotline for the movie is still not clear but one thing that we can definitely assume is that we will be getting another Ghostface antagonist. However, in an interview with Entertainment Tonight in July 2024, Campbell said that the movie is set to be centered on Sidney Prescott. On her social media, she also made a dig at the movie. Her post reveals that the upcoming film was written by Guy Busick with a story given by Busick and James Vanderbilt.
